Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026-05-28 · Last updated: 2026-05-28

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of KitchenOS, an AI meal planner for Indian households, operated by Jineesh S, sole proprietor ("KitchenOS", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service in any way you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Acceptance & eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create a KitchenOS account. By creating an account you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that, where you add other household members (including children), you have the authority and consent to do so on their behalf. The Primary Planner role carries both this authority and the responsibility for the household's data.

2. Your account

You are responsible for the activity that happens on your account. You agree to:

3. Subscription & payments

KitchenOS offers a free private-beta tier and paid plans. Indicative pricing during private beta:

Final pricing, plan inclusions, and any introductory offers are shown inside the app at the point of purchase and supersede the indicative figures above. Payments are processed by Razorpay on KitchenOS's behalf and are charged in Indian Rupees, inclusive of applicable GST.

Auto-renewal: paid subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel beforehand. You can cancel from inside the app at Settings → Subscription.

Cancellation & refund: if you cancel mid-cycle, we will refund the unused, pro-rated portion of the current billing period to your original payment method within 7 working days. You retain access until the end of that period or until we process the refund, whichever is earlier. Refunds for accidental or duplicate charges are issued in full on request to support@ganakys.com.

Price changes: we may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. New pricing applies from your next renewal; you can cancel before that renewal if you don't accept it.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these rules. Where possible we will warn first and let you export your data before closing.

5. Your content, our content

Your content stays yours. Pantry items, custom recipes, photographs, voice clips, and any other content you create or upload in KitchenOS remain your intellectual property. By using the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host and process that content solely to operate the service for you — for example, to include your pantry in a meal-plan prompt, to render a photo back to you in the consumption log, or to produce an export bundle on your request. We do not claim ownership and we do not use your content to train AI models (see Privacy Policy §7 on AI training opt-out).

Our content stays ours. The KitchenOS application code, design, brand, prompt library, drug-food interaction presentation, and reference content (festival calendar, ingredient master, allergen list) are owned by KitchenOS or our licensors. You may not copy, redistribute, or build a competing product from them.

Third-party content. Drug-food interaction data is a curated, rules-based ruleset maintained by KitchenOS (see Privacy Policy §5). It is provided to you for personal use only; you may not redistribute the dataset.

6. Safety disclaimer — please read

KitchenOS is a planning tool, not a medical service. The meal plans, drug-food interaction alerts, nutrition summaries, and any other guidance the app produces are advisory only and are not a substitute for advice from your doctor, pharmacist, or other qualified health professional. Drug-food interaction alerts are generated from a deterministic, curated interaction ruleset (advisory-only and pending pharmacist review) and are designed to flag known interactions, but they may not be exhaustive and they do not replace clinical judgement. Always consult your treating doctor before changing your diet, medication, or treatment, especially if you have a serious or unstable health condition. In an emergency, contact your doctor or call 112.

You acknowledge that:

7. Third-party services

KitchenOS uses third-party services to operate (Google Cloud, Razorpay, AI model providers, email delivery — see Privacy Policy §4 for the current list). Their terms and outages are outside our control. We take reasonable care to choose providers with good security and uptime, but we are not liable for losses that arise purely from their downtime.

8. Service availability

KitchenOS is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, but we aim to keep the service functional during normal Indian hours and to communicate planned maintenance in advance. We may add, change, or remove features during the private beta. Where a change materially reduces what you paid for, we will refund the affected portion.

9. Privacy & data protection

Our handling of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the service you confirm you have read and understood the Privacy Policy, including the drug-food safety architecture summary in §5 and your DPDP rights in §7 of the Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KitchenOS is provided "as is" and "as available". We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, that meal suggestions will suit every medical context, or that the service will be available without interruption.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify KitchenOS against any third-party claims, losses, or expenses arising out of (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the service, or (c) content you uploaded that you did not have the right to upload.

13. Termination

You can stop using KitchenOS at any time by deleting your account (Settings → Account → Delete account). On deletion we initiate a 30-day grace window, after which all personal data is purged per the Privacy Policy. We can suspend or terminate accounts that materially violate these Terms, that we are required to suspend by law, or where the underlying payment instrument fails repeatedly. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, liability, indemnity, governing law) will survive.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes (price, scope of service, your obligations) will be flagged in-app at least 30 days before they take effect, and you can cancel before they apply.

15. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the service, except where Indian consumer protection law gives a consumer the right to bring proceedings in the courts of their place of residence.

16. Contact

For any question about these Terms, write to support@ganakys.com. For formal grievances under the DPDP Act, our Grievance Officer is Snehalatha Ganaky (snehalatha@ganakys.com), reachable at grievance@ganakys.com.
