Meal plans.
KitchenOS plans your family's week, slot by slot, with AI suggestions that respect every member's health, diet, and taste. The suggestions are advisory — you stay in control of what goes on the plan.
Steps
Generate a weekly plan
- Open the Plan page to see the heading "This week's kitchen." and the week range (for example, "Jan 1 - 7, 2026").
- Tap "Generate plan" to start AI generation; you will see "Generating your week…" with a progress bar.
- Wait for "Your week is ready" — the week's day cards appear in the Plan tab.
- To plan by hand instead, tap "Build it myself".
Browse the week and a day
- On the Plan page, tap the Plan, Cooked, or Variety tab to switch views. The Cooked tab shows your cooked-this-week log, and the Variety tab shows variety stats; tappable day cards appear on the Plan tab.
- On the Plan tab, tap a day card (MON–SUN) to open the Day Plan page for that day.
- On the Day Plan page, tap "Add or edit dishes" to add or change meals.
Open a meal and its recipe
- On the Day Plan page, tap a meal card's header to open the Meal Detail page (you can also tap the "Adjustments" button on the card to open the same page).
- Tap "View full recipe" to see ingredients, method, and nutrition.
- Tap "Start cooking" (shown only when the recipe has steps) to follow step-by-step cooking mode with per-step timers. When you reach the last step, tap to mark the dish cooked.
Swap, rate, or mark cooked
- On Meal Detail, tap "Swap this meal", then tap "Use this swap" on an alternative.
- Tap "Mark cooked" to log it to today.
- Tap "Rate this meal", tap 1–5 stars, then tap "Save · improves future plans".
Tips & troubleshooting
- Empty week? The Plan page shows "Generate or refresh this week's plan" until you generate or build one.
- A day showing "No meals planned for this day" means you need to generate a plan from the week view to fill it.
- If a swap shows "No plan for this slot yet — generate a plan first.", generate the week's plan before swapping.
- Unlimited AI swaps are a paid feature; if prompted, you will be taken to the Subscription page.
- The safety badge is a helpful first check, not a guarantee. It matches dish ingredient text against members' diets and allergens by keyword (for example chicken, mutton, fish, peanut), so it can miss hidden ingredients, alternate names, or items it does not recognise. It shows an orange warning when it spots a likely conflict, or a green "Safe for all members" when it finds none. Always read the full recipe ingredients yourself before cooking for anyone with an allergy or strict diet — this is not medical advice.
- In Meal Swap, tap a "Why this swap?" chip (Similar, Lighter, Faster, Different cuisine) to re-rank the alternatives by that goal.
- "Voice ask" on a meal card and previous/next day navigation are marked "coming soon" for now.
