Getting started & sign-in.

KitchenOS signs you in with your phone number — no email or password needed. This guide walks you through your first run, from the Welcome screen all the way to your ready meal plan.

Steps

Open the app and start

  1. On the Welcome Page, tap Get started.
  2. (Joining an existing family instead? Tap Have an invite code? Join a family and enter your 6-character code and name.)

Sign in with your phone

  1. On the Phone Entry Page, tap the Country picker and choose India (+91) or Qatar (+974).
  2. Type your mobile number in the Mobile number field (for example, 98765 43210).
  3. Tap Send code.
  4. On the OTP Verification Page, tap the boxes and enter the 6-digit code sent by SMS (boxes move forward as you type).
  5. Tap Verify. If the code hasn't arrived, wait for the 60-second countdown under the OTP boxes, then tap Resend code to send a new one.

Complete onboarding

  1. On Language Selection, tap your language (English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, or Marathi), then tap Continue.
  2. On Household Voice Capture, tap the microphone and describe your family — or type in What we heard — then tap Continue.
  3. On Household Member Confirmation, check each member card, tap Fix to correct any name/role/age, then tap Looks right.
  4. On Food Fingerprint, adjust cuisine bias, meal times, and staples, then tap This looks like us.
  5. On Invite Co-Adult, you can add a name and phone, or tap Skip — invite later to move on. (Sending invites during onboarding isn't fully functional yet — you can invite co-adults later from inside the app.)
  6. On Fridge First Photo, tap Set up later to continue.
  7. On the Ready Page, wait for "Drafting your week…", then tap See this week's plan to reach Today. Meal suggestions are advisory — you can change anything.

Change your phone number later

  1. Open Account Settings. Your phone number is read-only and can't be changed here — contact support to switch numbers.

Tips & troubleshooting

  • Leaving the number blank shows "Enter your phone number first."; a too-short number (fewer than 7 digits) shows "That number looks too short. Check and retry."
  • No OTP yet? Wait for the 60-second countdown, then tap Resend code — you'll see "Code resent. Enter the most recent code." Either the new code or the one just before it will work.
  • Helpers don't sign in here — they use a 4-digit PIN you control.
  • Returning users go straight to Today; new users land in onboarding, and invite-code users go to profile to redeem the invite.
  • "Open camera" on the fridge step shows "Fridge scan — coming soon" — just tap Set up later.
  • Inviting a co-adult during onboarding isn't fully functional yet, so the invite may not actually reach them. You can invite family members later from the app, and they always sign in with their own phone OTP.
